Review: Getting Schooled

Getting Schooled Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the first of the Wright Brothers series. The story focuses on Reese and Jason; an attraction and rudeness all bungled into one, initially making for a love-hate relationship. Jason is an army vet and college student. Reese, a grad student and class assistant for her mother, Professor Bryant. Jason is one of Professor Bryant’s students and Reese is intrigued with Jason’s writing, but after meeting him, they butt heads until the attraction for each other is overpowered, turning into an intimate and loving romance.

My favorite part of the book is when Reese ran into Jason at the bbq restaurant. When they went back to his place and in the middle of their intimate moment, he showed her his reason for his purple heart, her reaction was blunt and honest. She wasn’t worried or cared about his injury, as long as his Dick worked that is what she was there for, so anything else was irrelevant.
What I like about this book, there is a lot of story for a novella. The characters are very detailed, and you don’t just hear Reese and Jason’s story, but a clip of others, giving you a chance to know them before preceding to the next books. You have more than just a love story; CCJ writes about struggles and real-life affairs. I like how CCJ shows that PTSD is not exempt and is not just target towards military veterans.

I loved this story and look forward to reading the rest of the series. I give this book a 5-star rating.
