Review: Zane

Zane Zane by Brenda Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Channing and Zane broke up two years ago, because of differences. Zane was not use to a woman breaking off a relationship with him. More than anything it hurt his pride. Zane had no need to break off the relationship considering everything was going to his expectations. Except for Channing had a different perspective. After nine months of dating, Channing wanted more from the relationship than what Zane was willing to give. However, Channing accepted his unwillingness and moved on, leaving Zane livid.

Until, Channing comes back to Denver temporary to teach a class at the hospital and that is when the cat and mouse game begins. Zane always claimed he did not love Channing and never would, but that all changed when he could not do without her and the thought of losing her forever, made him confront his true feelings for Channing. Zane and Channing made the best of friends and the intimacy was steamy, but for Zane commitment was a struggle. I had a couple of questions about this story; Was nine months too soon or too long to request a commitment? And was Love and Lust one in the same with these two? His excuse of not allowing any woman to get close to him is because of the tragic death of his parents or was that the reason or was he just selfish? After breaking up and finally coming back together, made them both take a good long look at themselves and the relationship and what they really meant to each other. They both learn a lot about each other and themselves in this story. Most of all they learn the meaning of real love. I like this book. It was fun to read, and I recommend. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
