Breaking Bailey's Rules / Reclaimed by the Rancher by Brenda JacksonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I found this book to be really good. I enjoyed the connection between Bailey Westmoreland and Walker Rafferty. After finding out that the Outlaws and Westmoreland were kin, Walker a family friend goes to Denver on behalf of the Outlaws to check out the Westmoreland family. Bailey doesn’t appreciate the fact that the Outlaws sent Walker to spy on them, instead of coming themselves to meet them. But the father; Bart Outlaw has a problem with accepting the fact that he was adopted and refuse to acknowledge that he is related to the Westmorelands. He stoops so low to tell Walker to find a way to discredit them. What is left unsaid in this story is why he is so against being related to the Westmorelands.
The relationship between Bailey and Walker was a bit funny, they spent more time apologizing to each other than communicating. These two are attracted to each other, but constantly at odds. Bailey and Walker are the opposite from each other; Bailey is family orientated and outgoing, where Walker is reclusive due to a painful past. They both have rules about never leaving their home, but Bailey has already broken a few rules with Walker Rafferty. These two seem to go back and forth. First, after Bailey puts her foot in her mouth, Walker suddenly leaves Denver and Bailey heads to Alaska to apologize. However, when she gets there, she ends up saving Walker’s life from a bear and stays to help him through his injuries. At this point, Bailey has fallen in love with Walker and Walker the same with Bailey. Then, Walker puts his foot in his mouth when Bailey overhears a conversation where Walker states in so many words that he does not have feelings for Bailey. So, she takes off suddenly back to Denver and Walker takes off after her to apologize and explain. These two had to come to grips with their love for each other and leave the stubborn rules behind. I enjoyed this book and I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
