Bachelor Unbound by Brenda JacksonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Is it just me or am I imaging things that there is a pattern in the Bachelor Series, that everyone seems to have trust and communication issues? If I hear one more person with their baggage, I am going to scream and what the heck does his mother’s mistake has to do with his relationships. I’m just sayin’.
Zion Blackstone is the last of the bachelors and he plans to keep his single status. Even though he is happy that his God brothers found the perfect wives, but his scare of commitment came from his mother’s confession of cheating on his father. It seems that his parents not having the perfect relationship, gave him indication that such possibilities could reflect in his future.
Zion is a famous jeweler and Celine Michael’s father hired Zion to make her some jewelry for her birthday, which she gives not hoot about. Celine’s father is rich, egoistic, arrogant, manipulating, and selfish. On the other hand, Celine is the complete opposite; caring, loving and giving. Zion and Celine are attracted to each other the moment they meet and sexual energy flairs. Based on Celine’s wealth and media attention, Zion sees Celine in a different light, which causes mistrust. Zion doesn’t know the real Celine, he is blinded by the glitz and glamour that surrounds her, although Celine warned Zion not to believe everything he hears from the media. However, Zion has trust issues anyway, so he is bond to believe the mendacities, which seem to give him confirmation that his lack of trust is validated.
When an attempted kidnapping gone wrong takes place, Celine needs Zion’s help and in the midst their relationship develops. Celine’s father plays a big role in the cause and effects of this story. I will just say, his negligence turned left, fate turns into right.
This story was very interesting, and I liked it. It was good reading. Considering I was fussing about the characters left and right, but I would re-read this book again. I did like how Zion was able to rectify his trust issues and move forward in developing a relationship with Celine. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
