This is one of Brenda Jackson’s books…. I just couldn’t relate. I did not care for Spencer Westmoreland, although he was wealthy, he was arrogant, egotistic, controlling, and downright spoiled. Then there is Chardonnay Russell that stood in the way of him purchasing her families vineyard. It was crazy and made no sense to me. Although Chardonnay fought against his advances, I was mad that she gave into him. It was blackmail and manipulation. Anytime someone gives you a proposal with an ultimatum, I call it blackmail and manipulation. To me, Spencer had a alter motive from the start and although he fell in love with Chardonnay, he couldn’t separate the two. Control is all he knew to get what he wanted including love.
This was not a love match. I call it two horny individuals with an arranged transaction. He bought, she sold. I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars, it was well written, but the whole situation just did not make any sense to me for a romance novel. Yes, this passion was definitely forbidden. NO! I will
not read it again. I am just done with this story.
