It took me a minute to do a review on this book because I had to process and marinate the story. Like the tasting of fine wine, a visual inspection of identifying the characters, savoring the clarity and structure of the story, and letting the flavors of desire and passion develop into my memory. Christina C. Jones did not miss one beat with this book, it was evolution of life events. The times we live our lives, unsure, hurt and confused based on our experiences, only to step outside of the box while still holding on to what we know for sure, but oblivious to where we are going.
The passion, desire, and emotional attachment these characters had for each other was real and immeasurable. Nubia Perry has a past that keeps her unattached from getting into a series relationship. It was safe that way. However, Stephen Foster former NFL player is not letting up on getting close to Nubia and although she wants Steph just as bad, but she refuses to comply to his advances. She knows she want Stephen in the worst way, but instead she keeps her distance, because she fears the outcome if she gets too close. Dealing with younger men is safe and keeps her in control, no ties, and no obligations. Nubia and Steph play cat and mouse until their desire for each turn series. The question is if they are both ready for what is about to come.
This book takes you on an expedition of Nubia and Stephen, their love and desire for each other is absolute. I love and highly recommend this book. This book is the second of the Inevitable series. I give it a 5 out of 5-star rating. LOVE IT!
