Behind The Scenes by Christina C. JonesMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book reminded me of a night listening to Coco Brown and the Phat Cat Players, a poetic jam; neo soul. Logan Byers and Pierre Perry III are a perfect beat.
After a car accident between two strangers, Pierre, and Logan, they exchange information. Pierre notice that Logan car was undrivable and offered her a ride. However, Logan is hesitant, she did not know this man, but considering the circumstances of being stranded in the middle of the night in a not so safe neighborhood, she took her chances. While riding, they engaged in conversation and once to her place, she offered him to come up. Surprised by her own boldness, that led to a steamy one-night encounter.
When Logan left the law firm owned by her parents, she branched out into her own career as an Executive Concierge. Meeting with her new client, which is none other than Pierre Perry, writer, and director, the man she had a one-night stand with; the man she was in an accident with. However, Logan does not believe in mixing business and pleasure, but these two broke that rule. They had a desired passion that made working and sleeping together refreshing. Although Logan and Pierre had personal issues that they had to endure, but together they worked through them. They were two imperfect people, perfect for each other.
This is the first book that I read by Christina C. Jones and I am looking forward to reading more, it was the audio, which gave the story more depth. The narrators, Emmanuel Ingram and Wesleigh Siobhan was flawless. I absolutely loved this story, it was well written, the characters complimented each other, and Logan and Pierre’s love connection were on point; their story unfolds beautifully. Wow, it was hard to put it down. However, I wanted more of Logan and Pierre’s story and I hope there is a part two or a continuation. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
