Review: Indigo

Indigo Indigo by Beverly Jenkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have literally read and listen to the audio several time, to the point I have lost count, but what I will say, Indigo is one of my favorite books.  I could not put this book down.
Hester Wyatt and Galen Vachon both were from a different class, but so much alike in their dedication to The Underground Railroad. Their romance story was juicy and innocent at the same time. You could feel the love that they had for each other. Hester aka Indigo was an ex-slave, beautiful, independent, intelligent, stubborn, and innocent. Galen aka The Black Daniel was born free, handsome, wealthy, arrogant, romantic, and seductive. My favorite part of the book was chapter 16. OMG! The recital of the Song of Solomon by Galen touched my heart, it was so surreal and passionate.
I fell in love with this book. Beverly Jenkins not only wrote one of the most beautiful romances I have read, but her reference to the underground railroad was authentic. Her research of the historical times in Michigan was magnificent. This book is number one on my list. It allowed me to lose myself in a captivating story of love, adventure, and history. Excellent read and yes, I will read it again and again. I truly enjoyed this book. ⭐FIVE STARS!

My choice of Cast for a movie:
  • Tika Sumpter, as Hester Wyatt
  • Nick Sagar as Galen Vachon
