Texas Wild by Brenda JacksonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dr. Megan Westmoreland hired Ricardo Claiborne, a Private Investigator and, also a family member by marriage. Megan hired him to investigate and find more Westmoreland that were probably tied to her Great Grandfather. Not knowing what each other looked like when she hired him, they were able to meet at a family wedding and they had instant attraction that was felt by everyone in the room. When Rico decides to pay Megan a visit at the hospital to give her an update on the investigation and that he would be traveling to Texas for some leads, she decides she is going with him. However, because of his attraction to Megan, Rico knew he could not handle having her around him especially with his rule of not mixing business with pleasure. Megan is also attracted to Rico and she feels that they both should be able to conduct self-control. That did not work for them.
The passion between these two were heated. More sex than I could imagine, and they had a love connection from day one. The problems I had with this book, is that close to the end of the novel the story ended too fast. Also, there were issues going on with finding the truth about the Westmoreland extended family and the relationship between Rico and his estranged father. I could have used at least four more chapters to ease into the finale. And, what is up with Megan fainting. That was a bit much.
I was excited to read Megan story, considering there are not many females in the Westmoreland family, other than the wives. The book said that Rico was a Brad Cooper look-a like. I don’t think Brad Cooper is all that good looking, so my image of Rico is completely different. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. It was a pretty good story, just needed more.
My choice of Cast:
• Denise Boutte as Megan Westmoreland
