Took me a while to read this book. A pretty good read. Gabrielle Union story; coming to age. Her experiences; mistakes and lessons learned from youth to adult. It was like listening to a grown-up conversation between your niece and her friends. I said niece, because some things can be accepted by an Aunt vs. a Mother. Some parts were sad, some making you laugh, but overall proud to see her overcoming the obstacles and succeeding. 

However, for some reason the book seem adolescent for me and I got kind of bored. But, there were parts of the book that stood out more for me, such as the relationship and divorce of her parents and the death of one of her best friends. I think everyone could find some of their own experiences in this book and relate to her story.
